Here’s the scenario: You work like crazy and achieve a new level of success. It feels great because you’ve been working and improving for a long time. Electric feelings of joy run through your body and your positive energy is overflowing. With a smile on your face, you share your story with others. You expect positive energy in return. But something else happens. Instead of celebrating your achievement, others tell you, “But not everyone can do that.” You blink, take a breath, and pause for a moment to reflect.

My 6th grade math teacher, Mr. Bechtel, had a bunch of chess boards in the back of his classroom. After completing our work, we were allowed to spend the rest of the class period playing chess. If you took an interest and were willing to stay after class, you had the opportunity to play a game or two with the teacher. That’s how I learned to play. My daughter first learned to play chess when she was five. Chess continues to be part of her home education studies. Here we go. 4 reasons why chess is awesome.

The other day, someone asked why I chose the name “Able Kinetic” for this project. Here’s the mystical, revolutionary, deep meaning, solve-all-of-the-world’s-problems answer. Well, maybe not so much. But a love story nonetheless.
